There's blood on my shoes

The Librarians reach the final fight in the dungeon, and inadvertently release Raokan, who possesses Mint's dead body as they're released from the rock prison, and escapes from the mine in a path of fire and destruction.

Session 23

We move into the room in the east. It’s warm, and seems to be in good condition compared to the rest of the dungeon. There’s a dust-covered book sitting on a large altar; candlestick at the side. A painting of a sunset of a landscape with a pond. The book won’t open; there’s a swirly design on the cover. Ritual of Dusk for Xalicas performed and the book opens to reveal yet another key. The light becomes very bright.

Behind the altar, we find a small dagger; it appears to be magical. It’s long, pointy, and has a golden crossguard with a blue velvet-wrapped hilt. “Dagger of the First Light” (it grants bonus to initiative rolls and can provide magical light)

The group spends the night in this very safe, protected, warm room.

We all savor delicious omelets for breakfast from Mint to keep Tea's tradition alive. We gather the two keys we’ve discovered so far and head toward the final door in the hallway to the south protected by two large keyholes. It opens into a hallway with another door at the end of the corridor. Prophet opens it.

The room is large and cavernous, with a gigantic altar on one end into which appears to be a giant stone of some sort. There are four skeleton knights; very powerful-looking armed with various items:

  1. A black staff with an eye-catching orb at the top (Kra'naelen)
  2. A blowgun that ends in the shape of a dragon (Prophet)
  3. A cloak with the appearance of smoke flanking the edges (Maltheo)
  4. A ring with a bright orange gemstone (Briya)

We're attacked, and respond in kind.

Killing the four knights put out the four braziers around the rock, and it splits open and a huge blood demon spawned. Mint, who has been under a charm of some sort making her think Tea was in the rock, died. She then became possessed by “Raokan” and leaves the dungeon by way of rocks that were cleared away in a side tunnel leading back toward the entrance. Grabbing the magic items as described above on the way, we chase the demon outside, and are joined by a mysterious flying cat. Mint's possessed body says, “Trush, I’m coming my love.” And the demon teleports out, leaving a stunned smaller group of Librarians behind, standing in a giant zone of destruction that is smoldering from countless small fires.
