Prophet's face is getting sucked off

Session 64

It's the day of the meeting of the Librarians and the Diarchy of Uthodurn. Sumina brings the group to the meeting hall and grand throne room in the lowest disk of of the city. She, along with Æsheryn, announce themselves to the two seated leaders on thrones at the front: Queen Simone Fruunast (female Dwarf) and King Imathan Talviel (male Elf).

Then, Maltheo is given leave to speak. He talks about magic and the problems in Molaesmyr that the Diarchy has been investigating for some time. He wants them to form an alliance with the Empire to work on the mystery of Molaesmyr's corruption. King Imathan thanks him for the proposal and is more than aware that the Empire has a presence there. He also admits that a cooperative effort seems like a good idea, with the most recent news from Sumina and Vesryn. Queen Simone chimes in that cooperation with the Empire could provoke the Dynasty. It's at this point Prophet mentions that, as someone in high standing in the Kryn Dynasty, he could speak for them as part of the cooperation.

Maltheo says that he is just a messenger, but mentions that Jayne, an underling of Popovsky, is a point of contact in the ruins. Maltheo's insight also shows the King wants the alliance because of connections to Assembly and the restoration of the Savalirwood, but the Queen is more hesitant and prefers neutrality. Prophet's admission ever so slightly chills the King's response. During this time Cass's homunculus takes a long silver hair from King Imathan.

The royals take leave to go discuss and the group is left to mingle in the throne room among others dining and conversing. Maltheo asks Prophet what he wants to do with the Dynasty.

Suddenly, there's a crackle in the air and a flash of light. A smell of brimstone and a whoosh of energy and wind erupting from the thrones. 4 agents from the Dynasty accompanied by Sunbreaker Olomon. Also, flying in the air above them is Tisiphone Thelyss. And finally, Niminion from the Shadow Hands, who resurrected Kra'aelen when he died defending the Luxon.

The room is in uproar and the guards seem to begin to panick.

Tisiphone makes a speech to calm nerves, and says they're here to detain and return the Prophet to Xhorhas. "Prophet's shadows and half-truths can no longer be ignored. This is not an act of enforcement, but a call to accountability and truth. To bring you from the depths of your silence." (Her phrasing and sound here is sharp and pointed; very unlike her) "You may choose to come with us, or defy us again and face the full wrath of the Dynasty. Know this: the eyes of the Luxon watch over us all and none can avoid judgement."

Niminion holds a large staff and one of the Luxon beacons. "Consider your decision wisely, Radiant Prophet — your body does not need to be alive to bring you to your Queen."

Maltheo tells Prophet it's his moment to make a choice. "We'll stand by you if we must." He says we're outmatched and that this is not the moment. "Friends, how wonderful it is to see you here! I have been trying to reach you. There's been a misunderstanding we need to get to the bottom of. I'm sure I can explain it all. It's been tough to be here west out of Xhorhas. Be at peace and know this is all a misunderstanding we'll get to the bottom of. I will go with you and we can talk things through."

Maltheo: "What are you doing right now? We need to go to Molaesmyr. They've invaded a sovereign space!"

Prophet: "Why now? Why come here to find me? This seems aggressive to a foreign state."

Olomon: "Sorry brother; We tried to get to you for some time. But not until we heard the names of the King and Queen did we know where to find you."

Prophet: "I had to protect myself from dark entities that are trying to possess me. Let's find a place to talk this through that doesn't feel like it's a stance of aggression."

Tisiphone: "As we've said, we mean no harm to the people of Uthodurn."

Maltheo: "Will you attack if he decides to stay?" (They say they are to take Prophet by any means, in response)

Prophet tries a Suggestion spell on Olomon to get him to spill info about Vesh the Blood Siren. It seems to work because he suddenly says, "That's right brother; I cannot let my brother be taken" and he attacks the elf in front of him.

Initiative!
