Maltheo's killing blow reveals a twist: a reborn harpy queen emerges. Briya's attempt to heal an ally results in the acquisition of Harmony's Embrace. With more harpies approaching, the party retreats into a mountain, sealing the entrance behind them. They prepare for the challenges within.

Combat continues…
As the lesser harpies are eliminated, Maltheo gets the killing blow on the one that appears to be their leader. The group is surprised, though, as she resurrects in a giant burst of flames. The blinding purple white light imprints into our eyes the shape of large bird: a giant harpy queen.
In the meantime, Briya tries to heal and restore the missing Aarakocra man, but it appears as though the chest armor he is wearing absorbs these spells instead. At this moment, Briya hears in her mind, "Sorry child; this one beyond saving. But know that you have been seen."
Suddenly Briya is wearing the breastplate, known as Harmony's Embrace. It gives the attuned wearer +1 to AC as studded leather, advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened, and can also grow wings to fly on a bonus-action.
Whittling down the queen, we hear new harpies arrive on the horizon. They'll arrive in less than one minute, so we proceed with drastic measures.
We send Kleggak away to safety. Cass attaches to Maltheo as he uses 390 feet of movement to search for a portal inside the cave mouth. He finds a gymnasium-sized room with a slanted floor and veins of lava around. The entire ceiling seems to have been sculpted-out by harpies to make nests. At the end of room, a few hundred more feet, there is another door that seems to lead downward into the mountain.
Kra'naelen blasts the cave entrance closed once the group all makes it in, with Briya and Yahnist freeing Maltheo from being charmed at the last moment. Now, trapped by their own doing, the group takes a moment to breathe before exploring deeper into the mountain...
