I'm taking psychic damage! Flail!
This RP-heavy session furthers all the characters' stories, save for Briya. It's time to leave Urzin and head south, to work on each of our tasks.
Session 6
In Urzin, having brought Bol'bara back alive and dealt with Fort Venture, we are rewarded with 200 gold for our troubles, and are told that we could go see Hunan for weapons as a bonus reward. Maltheo calls out Morgid for his abandoning of us; there will be punishment.
We head out into the "streets" of Urzin and search for the smoking tortoise. (The blacksmith hut). We see a group of cat-looking people, but it turns out they’re lion people instead! Everyone gets their quest reward: a new shield for Mint; a tuning-fork rapier for Prophet; Hollow bolts for Kra’naelen; a hidden blade harness for Maltheo; and barded leather armor for Briya.
Maltheo has a conversation with some other boss of his order in an alley between two turtles. He's now no longer reporting to his original handler, but instead to someone new.
A parchment with the Seal of Den Thelyss is given to Prophet. It appears to be written in Undercommon. He's told that his mission seems to be going well. However, Prophet is informed that in approximately one week’s time, Aurora Watch forces will try and take back the border on the Empire side. The Shadowhands will be present. The letter mentions that they know Prophet isn’t there, but his presence is requested to help. The Kryn dynasty uses Shadowhands to cast darkness wherever they go.
Kra'naelen and Bol'bara discuss the corruption of the Svalirwood. It all seems to have started with the fall of Molaesmyr. What was once a powerful Elven nation, at one point the most prominent Elven society on Wildemount. However, a few hundred years ago, through some strange, not entirely understood cataclysm, the city fell, and the surrounding forest was corrupted, which is now known as the Savalirwood. Bol'bara Pulls out a diamond-shaped glass container with a clear liquid in it. Along with an Eye of a Nothic Kra'naelen adds into this, it could guide him to sources of primal power. Nothics seek out forms of magic; regular sized. They can be found near ley lines, and there is one such all along the Ifolon river.
We then discuss some information about Prophet. She has seen a tapestry once before (illustrated with mage hand) and here is what it said about Thanor'tal, the Radiant Prophet. About 900 years ago when the gods were locked behind the divine gate, the Spider Queen lost influence over the Drow. They had no way to get out and no one to guide them. But someone did. He led them from the Underdark. Holding a dodecahedron and a blue key. This is him. Unlocking the true potential of the Drow elves. Behind him is the Queen of the Kryn dynasty. Compared to him, the living one carries the foolishness of youth. But also a key.
Maltheo and Bryia meet up with the camp leader again. They have bodies of the kobolds which are now blackscaled and blue-tongued. But suddenly it also infected a half-orc; could it possibly be a drug they started, known as Drugon? It seems that maybe they were in town to sell it instead of to just fight stuff. One of them was riding a giant boar, and it’s now captured. He describes finding a detached wing in a cave and the bones from it make a drug. Our group makes a deal to find and kill the drug-abusing kobolds.
The group reconvenes and compares quest logs. Time to hop on our new mounts and hunt down a Nothic on the way to escort Prophet to his helping the Kryn keep the Empire from pusing further east.
